On 30 November, the Akasia Parish Men’s Guild paid a meaningful visit to George Mkhari Hospital, where we were warmly hosted in the male psychiatric ward. The visit formed part of our ongoing commitment to pastoral care, compassion, and outreach within our community.
During the visit, the Men’s Guild held a short worship service, sharing God’s Word, singing, and praying together with the patients and hospital staff. The service was led by Rev. K Mongwe, who offered words of encouragement and hope, reminding all present of God’s abiding presence even in moments of difficulty and vulnerability.
As a practical expression of love and support, the Men’s Guild also donated water bottles and fresh fruit to the ward. This small gesture was received with gratitude and served as a sign of care, dignity, and solidarity with those receiving treatment.
We give thanks to God for the opportunity to serve and to George Mkhari Hospital for welcoming us. May this visit be a source of comfort, healing, and renewed hope to all who were part of it.
“Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.”— Galatians 6:2
