The Evangelical Presbyterian Church in South Africa (EPCSA) continues to take meaningful steps toward strengthening its presence and reconnecting its members across the country. In a significant and encouraging development, the Moderator, Rt Rev Adv SPH Nyambi, recently visited Cape Town to support efforts aimed at reviving the EPCSA Cape Town branch.
The primary purpose of this visit was to regroup and re-energise EPCSA members in Cape Town who became disconnected during and after the Covid-19 pandemic. Like many communities, the Cape Town branch experienced disruption, leading to a loss of structure and regular fellowship. This visit marks a renewed commitment by the church leadership to rebuild unity among members, restore regular worship and fellowship, strengthen local leadership structures, and reignite the spiritual life of the Cape Town branch.
The Moderator was joined by key leaders who are instrumental in driving this revival initiative. In the picture, from left, are Mr Shongi Shikundu, the treasurer, Rt Rev Adv SPH Nyambi, Moderator, Prof Xikombiso Mbhenyane, Chairperson, and Mr Ishmael Hlomane, Church Elder at EPCSA Polokwane. Their presence reflects a strong, united leadership committed to restoring the Cape Town branch to full strength.
As EPCSA continues to grow and adapt in a post-pandemic world, initiatives like this demonstrate the church’s commitment to its people. The Cape Town revival is a powerful reminder that, even after disruption, renewal is always possible. We encourage all EPCSA members in and around Cape Town to reconnect, participate, and be part of this exciting new chapter. Together, we rebuild. Together, we grow.
